What it fixes

What changes with Point of sale.

In short

Point of sale is the counter billing screen of MyRecords. The cashier opens a register, scans or searches items, takes cash or card (and in India UPI, with a QR for the exact amount), split if needed, and prints a 58 or 80 mm thermal receipt or shares the bill on WhatsApp. If the network drops while the till is open, bills queue in the browser and sync when it returns. Each bill counts against the till's stock at once, and closing the register posts the shift's sales to the stock ledger and the books.

  • Before: The queue grows while the cashier types item names.

With Point of sale: Scan a barcode or search by name or code, with keys for search (F2), customer (F4), extra discount (F6), pay (F8), hold (F9) and past bills (F10).

  • Before: Customers pay the wrong amount by UPI.

With Point of sale: The payment screen shows a UPI QR with the exact amount, made from your own UPI ID.

  • Before: The internet drops and billing stops.

With Point of sale: Bills are saved in the browser first and sync by themselves when the network is back.

  • Before: The cash in the drawer never matches.

With Point of sale: Close the register with counted against expected for each payment mode. Cash in and out is recorded.

  • Before: Billing and stock live in different software.

With Point of sale: Each bill counts against the till's warehouse at once, and closing the register posts the shift to the same stock and books.

What it does

What Point of sale does for you.

Everything here works today on the demo company, except where a tag says it needs your account or works in part.

  • 01

    Open and close the register

An opening amount for each payment mode. At close, counted against expected, with a note counter and a check for unusual cash differences. A register left open from an earlier day must be closed before the next sale.

Works on the same records as

  • 02

    Scan and search

Barcode, item code or name, item group chips and tiles with stock. Weighing-scale labels add the item with its weight or price. The till asks for the batch or serial when an item needs one, and Other sizes swaps a variant.

  • 03

    Bill from a list

Type or speak the customer's list, such as “2 kg sugar, 1 Parle-G”, and the till matches the items; nothing goes on the bill until you tick it. Reading a photo of a handwritten list needs AI Assistant.

  • 04

    UPI QR with the amount

A QR for the exact amount from your UPI ID. The cashier completes the sale once the customer's app shows it paid.

  • 05 Once connected

    UPI that confirms itself

With your Razorpay account connected, the till shows Razorpay's QR for the amount and records the payment by itself. Cashfree needs the customer's mobile, so the till keeps your own QR.

  • 06

    Split payment and change

Cash, card and UPI on one bill, quick cash buttons and the change to give.

  • 07

    Hold, resume and returns

Hold a bill while a customer fetches one more thing. Bills (F10) lists past bills to reprint or take a return against.

  • 08

    Receipts and WhatsApp

58 mm and 80 mm thermal receipts with GST by rate and the saving on MRP. WhatsApp opens with the bill link ready to send.

  • 09

    Offline queue

If the network drops while the till is open, bills wait in the browser and go up when it returns. The top bar shows how many are queued.

  • 10

    Manager PIN, loyalty and suggestions

Price or discount changes can need a manager's PIN. Customers redeem loyalty points at the counter, and the cart suggests items often bought with what is on the bill.

India compliance

For businesses in India, built in.

India is our first fully supported market. Each line says whether it works today, once you connect your account, or in part.

Outside India

Outside India, counter billing works the same in your own currency. Your country pack sets the tax on the receipt; we build and test it before go-live. UPI is for India, and some countries need a certified till first.

What works in your country
  • GST on every receipt

Receipts show GST by rate, CGST + SGST or IGST, and round off to the rupee. When the register closes, the shift's bills post as sales invoices, so they reach your GSTR-1 file.

    Works today
  • UPI without a gateway

The QR is made from your business UPI ID, so it works without signing up with a payment gateway.

    Works today
  • B2B bills at the counter

Add a walk-in business customer with name, mobile and GSTIN in one step.

    Works today
  • MRP on the receipt

The receipt shows what the customer saved against MRP.

Reports and roles

What you see, and who sees it.

Reports come ready on day one. Each person sees only the screens and records their role allows.

Reports you get

  • This shift on the top bar (bills, sales, cash in the drawer)
  • Register closing, counted against expected
  • POS invoices (counter sales today and this month, held bills, not yet closed)
  • Counter sales register
  • Past bills with reprint and return
  • Cash in and out
  • Sales analytics by item, customer and period
  • Warehouse stock balance for the till's warehouse

Who sees what

Owner
See every till, every shift and every closing.
Sales manager
Open and close registers, record cash in and out, and approve price changes with their PIN.
Cashier
Bill, take payment, hold and resume, reprint and take returns. Price or discount changes need a manager's PIN if you set one.
Accountant
See closings and the day's sales in the books. An accounts manager can also close a register and approve price changes with a PIN.

Once you connect1

Built in; needs your own account with the provider.

  • UPI that confirms itself

Not in Point of sale yet

Left out on purpose, or planned.

  • Card machine (EDC) link. Card payments are entered as a payment mode, not read from the machine.
  • The UPI QR offline. When the network is down, take cash or card, or use your printed shop QR and record it as UPI.
  • Online store or marketplace orders at the till.
On a phone
The till works in a browser on a PC, tablet or phone and installs to the home screen. If the network drops while it is open, items already on screen can still be billed: bills queue and sync when the network returns. Searching or scanning a new item, opening a register, the UPI QR and reloading the page need a connection.
Bringing data in
Items with barcodes and prices from our Excel templates through Import data, which checks the columns first; an import that created new records can be undone. Stock items can also come from Tally.
Getting data out
Bills, closings and every report export to Excel, CSV or PDF.
Integrations
Barcode scanners, thermal printers and weighing scales are yours to buy; the till takes scanner input and prints 58 or 80 mm receipts from the browser. The WhatsApp bill opens WhatsApp on the phone or PC, no business account needed. Razorpay confirmation at the till and the day-close summary on WhatsApp Business work once you connect your account.
Where it runs
Runs as your own dedicated system: on your server under an AMC, or on MyRecords Cloud for a monthly fee. The tills are browsers, so there is nothing to install on each counter. Data ownership and exit

Something else on your mind?

Ask us anything about modules, a quote or moving across. A person from our team replies.

Ask a question
01Does Point of sale work without the internet?

Yes, if the connection drops while the till is open. Items already on screen can be billed; each bill is saved in the browser first and syncs by itself when the network is back, and the top bar shows how many are waiting. Searching or scanning a new item, opening a register, the UPI QR and reloading the page need a connection. Do not clear the browser's data while bills are queued.

02Which scanners and printers work?

Any barcode scanner that types into the screen, which most USB scanners do, and thermal printers with 58 mm or 80 mm paper that print from the browser. You buy the hardware.

03Does the UPI payment confirm by itself?

With the QR from your own UPI ID, the cashier checks the customer's app and completes the sale. With a Razorpay account connected, the till shows Razorpay's QR, watches the payment and records it by itself.

04Can I run more than one counter?

Yes. Each till has its own setup, the POS profile (warehouse, price list, payment modes, receipt format), and each cashier opens their own register. Users are unlimited; your size includes 1, 3 or 6 outlets of up to 2 tills each, and more can be added.

05Can I give a GST bill to a business customer at the counter?

Yes. Add the customer with name, mobile and GSTIN from the till, and the bill carries their GSTIN.

06How do returns work?

Open Bills (F10), pick the bill and press Return. A return bill opens with its items for you to check and save; the stock comes back to the till's warehouse.

07Do counter sales reach my GST returns?

Yes. When the register closes, the shift's bills post as sales invoices in the books, and the GSTR-1 file is prepared from the books for upload.
