What it fixes

What changes with India compliance.

In short

India compliance is the GST and statutory add-on of MyRecords. It prepares GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B files for upload from the same invoices that post to your books, matches GSTR-2B from the file you download, creates the e-invoice and e-way bill upload files and records the IRN and e-way bill number, and lists GST, TDS, PF, ESI, professional tax and advance-tax due dates on Home. You or your CA upload the return files on the GST portal. Making IRNs and e-way bills from inside MyRecords works once you connect your API login.

  • Before: GSTR-1 never matches the sales register.

With India compliance: GSTR-1 is worked out from the same submitted invoices that post to the ledger, line by line.

  • Before: Every month the CA asks for purchase data to match 2B.

With India compliance: Upload the GSTR-2B file. Bills are matched supplier by supplier; a missing one becomes a draft bill.

  • Before: An inter-state bill went out with CGST and SGST.

With India compliance: Place of supply decides the tax. CGST + SGST inside your state, IGST outside it.

  • Before: A due date is noticed only after it has passed.

With India compliance: Home lists GST, TDS, PF, ESI, professional tax and advance-tax dates for the next 45 days.

What it does

What India compliance does for you.

Everything here works today on the demo company, except where a tag says it needs your account or works in part.

  • 01

    GSTR-1 file

Worked out from submitted sales invoices and credit notes, in the GST portal's offline-tool JSON, with the HSN summary and documents issued. Needs attention lists what to fix, and each invoice's GST tab shows where it lands.

Works on the same records as

  • 02

    GSTR-3B file

Tables 3.1, 3.2, 4, 5 and 6.1 from the books, with ITC blocked under section 17(5) shown and reversed. Each figure opens the invoices behind it, and the totals are checked against GSTR-1 and the GST ledger.

  • 03

    GSTR-2B matching

Upload the 2B file from the portal. Bills are matched by supplier GSTIN and bill number; a row missing from your books becomes a draft purchase bill. Every run is kept, so you can reopen a month.

  • 04 In part

    IMS decisions

Mark each inward invoice Accept, Reject or Keep pending, with a reason for a rejection, and export the IMS worksheet to act on in the portal. Sending the decisions to the portal from here needs a GSP account.

  • 05

    E-invoicing

Creates the e-invoice upload file and records the IRN, Ack no. and signed QR you bring back from the portal. The IRN then prints on the GST tax invoice.

  • 06

    E-way bills

Creates the bulk-upload file from invoices, deliveries and stock transfers, checks GSTIN, PIN code, HSN and transport details first, and records the e-way bill number and validity.

  • 07

    Place of supply

CGST + SGST or IGST is set by place of supply on quotations, orders, deliveries, invoices and purchase documents. The wrong kind of tax is switched or refused before saving.

  • 08 In part

    Reverse charge

On a sale under reverse charge, the GST is printed and reported in GSTR-1 but not charged or booked. Purchase bills marked reverse charge go to GSTR-3B table 3.1(d).

  • 09

    Compliance calendar

GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, TDS deposit, PF, ESI, professional tax and advance-tax dates for the next 45 days, on Home for accounts staff; most also show on the Calendar.

  • 10 Once connected

    GST portal APIs

Making and cancelling IRNs, and making, updating, extending and cancelling e-way bills on the portals' APIs (NIC direct access or a GSP), plus fetching GSTR-2B and sending IMS actions through a GSP, are built. They work once you connect your API login.

India compliance

For businesses in India, built in.

India is our first fully supported market. Each line says whether it works today, once you connect your account, or in part.

Outside India

This module is for India. Outside India, your country pack takes its place: the local tax invoice, the VAT or sales-tax return report and, where your country clears invoices, an e-invoicing link. We build and test it before go-live.

What works in your country
  • HSN and SAC codes

The official list of 22,609 HSN/SAC codes ships with the add-on; refresh it or import a newer file. A setting for 4, 6 or 8 digits on invoices, and HSN on every invoice line and in the GSTR-1 HSN summary.

    Works today
  • GSTIN checks

GSTINs on your addresses, customers and suppliers are checked for format, state code and check character before saving. Checking one against the GST portal works once you connect your e-invoice API login.

    Works today
  • ITC register

Input tax credit by month, by tax head and by eligibility, and by supplier with each bill's 2B result.

    Works today
  • AI help

With the AI Assistant add-on, Suggest HSN (AI) on an item offers up to three codes from the official list, Read a bill turns a scanned supplier bill into a draft with its GSTIN, IRN, tax heads and HSN per line, and setup fills your GST details from the registration certificate. You check each one before it is saved.

    Works today
  • TDS on purchases

TDS deducted this quarter, what to deposit by the 7th, challans, the quarterly statement as an Excel workbook for the return utility, and 26AS or AIS matching, on the TDS tab of GST returns in Accounting.

    In part
  • One GSTIN per company

Returns are worked out per company with one GSTIN. A business registered in several states runs one company per GSTIN.

    In part
  • 30-day IRN rule

With turnover of ₹10 crore or more, tick one setting and MyRecords flags any invoice older than the IRP's 30-day reporting limit before you make its upload file.

Who sees what

Owner
See every return, figure and due date.
Accountant
Prepare the return files, match 2B, record IRNs and e-way bills, and see the due dates on Home.
Your CA
See the returns, registers and the books behind them, with a login from Invite your CA that switches itself off on the date you pick.
Sales staff
Their invoices carry the right GST and HSN without them choosing anything. GSTR-3B, GSTR-2B and ITC stay hidden from anyone who cannot read purchase bills.

The feature text says exactly which part.

  • IMS decisions
  • Reverse charge
  • TDS on purchases
  • One GSTIN per company

Not in India compliance yet

Left out on purpose, or planned.

  • GSTR-9 annual return, and quarterly (QRMP) or composition returns.
  • TCS return (27EQ).
  • Filing GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B from inside MyRecords; you upload the JSON files on the GST portal.
  • GSTR-1 tables for advances (11A/11B), e-commerce supplies, amendments and shipping-bill details, and GSTR-3B cells 3.1.1, 4A(4), 4D and 5.1, which you complete on the portal.
On a phone
Works in any phone browser and installs to the home screen. Return work needs a connection; only point of sale, the shop floor, attendance check-in, maintenance visits, asset physical checks and bill photos for Read a bill keep working offline.
Bringing data in
The GSTR-2B file you download from the GST portal, the HSN/SAC list as Excel or CSV, the IRN, Ack no. and signed QR (typed, or the portal's response pasted as is), the e-way bill number, and Form 26AS text or the AIS CSV for TDS matching.
Getting data out
GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B JSON files for the portal, e-invoice and e-way bill upload files, the IMS worksheet, GSTR-2B results and the ITC register as CSV, and the quarterly TDS statement as Excel.
Integrations
The file route works today with no third party. The e-invoice and e-way bill APIs (NIC direct access or a GST Suvidha Provider) and a GSP connection for 2B fetch and IMS actions are built and work once you connect your own login. Filing GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B from inside MyRecords is not built.
Where it runs
Runs as your own dedicated system: on your server under an AMC, or on MyRecords Cloud for a monthly fee. Your GST data stays in your system, and you can export everything when you leave. Data ownership and exit

Questions

Questions people ask

Something else on your mind?

Ask us anything about modules, a quote or moving across. A person from our team replies.

Ask a question
01Does MyRecords file my GST returns?

It prepares the GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B files from your books for you or your CA to upload on the GST portal. Filing straight from MyRecords is not built yet.

02Do I need a GSP to use it?

No. The return files, 2B matching, e-invoice and e-way bill files all work without one. An API login (NIC direct access or a GSP) is only needed to make IRNs and e-way bills from inside MyRecords; fetching 2B and sending IMS actions need a GSP.

03How does it decide between CGST + SGST and IGST?

By place of supply against your company's GST state. A supply inside your state carries CGST + SGST; a supply to another state, an SEZ or abroad carries IGST. See place of supply.

04Can it generate the IRN for my e-invoices?

It creates the e-invoice upload file and records the IRN, Ack no. and signed QR you bring back from the portal. Generating the IRN directly on the portal's API is built and works once you connect your e-invoice API login, from NIC or a GSP.

05We have GST registrations in two states. Will it work?

Yes, as one company per GSTIN. Returns are worked out per company, and each company keeps its own GSTIN, books and reports. GSTINs and companies beyond your plan's allowance are added to your quote.

06Is QRMP or composition supported?

Not yet. The returns are for monthly filers under the regular scheme. QRMP and composition returns are on the roadmap.

07Has a CA reviewed this?

The rules follow the GST law, portal formats and official advisories, with sources on each page. An independent CA review of these pages is pending. During the pilot we check your first returns with your own CA before you file.
