How it works

Three steps, start to finish.

In short

With India compliance, the TDS tab of GST returns in MyRecords shows the tax you deducted on supplier bills this quarter, the balance to deposit by the 7th of next month (30 April for March), and the challans you paid. Each quarter it lays out the non-salary statement, Form 26Q up to March 2026 and Form 140 from April 2026, as an Excel workbook to key into or import with the return preparation utility. It also matches the TDS your customers deducted, from your 26AS text or AIS file, with the TDS receivable in your books. Filing on TRACES stays with you or your CA.

  1. Step 1

    Deduct on the bill

Set the supplier's PAN and TDS category (section) once. Once their bills cross the year's limit, each bill works out the TDS and posts it to the TDS payable account.

  2. Step 2

    Deposit by the 7th

TDS to deposit shows the balance per TDS account and the due date. "Pay" opens the payment; then "Record a challan" on the quarter's statement.

  3. Step 3

    Prepare the quarter

The quarterly TDS statement flags deductions with no challan. "Download for the RPU (Excel)" gives the workbook to key in or import with the utility.

  1. Deducted this quarterWorks today

TDS per voucher and a section-wise summary for the quarter, from the bills and payments that carry it.

  2. To depositWorks today

The balance of every TDS payable account, due by the 7th of the next month, or 30 April for tax deducted in March.

  3. ChallansWorks today

Record each challan with its BSR code, serial number and date, so the quarterly statement carries it.

  4. Form 26Q and Form 140 workbookIn part

The quarterly non-salary statement as an Excel workbook, with challans and deductees on their own sheets. Quarters to March 2026 use Form 26Q; from April 2026, Form 140 under rule 219 of the Income-tax Rules, 2026. It is not the upload file itself.

  5. 26AS and AIS matchWorks today

"Upload 26AS text or AIS CSV" under "Match 26AS / AIS with your books". Each deductor's TDS is compared with the TDS receivable you booked for that party, entry by entry. Nothing is saved from the upload.

  6. TDS kept by your customersWorks today

When a customer pays you less TDS, add it under Deductions on the receipt; the invoice is settled in full and the TDS goes to TDS receivable.

Questions

Questions people ask

Something else on your mind?

Ask us anything about it. A person from our team replies.

Ask a question
01When is TDS due?

Tax deducted in a month is due by the 7th of the next month; tax deducted in March is due by 30 April. The page shows the date for the month you are looking at, and so does the compliance calendar on Home.

02Does MyRecords file the TDS return?

No. It prepares the quarterly statement as an Excel workbook for the return preparation utility. Validating the file and filing on TRACES stay with you or your CA.

03What changed in April 2026?

The Income-tax Act, 2025 and the Income-tax Rules, 2026 took effect on 1 April 2026. The non-salary quarterly statement is now Form 140, which replaced Form 26Q. The deposit dates did not change.

04Can it check the TDS my customers deducted?

Yes. Upload your 26AS text file or AIS CSV, and each deductor's TDS is matched with what you booked as TDS receivable for that customer.

05Is salary TDS here too?

Salary TDS is worked out in Payroll, with its own statutory files.
