3 Nov 2026: GST on every sales document
| What we checked | What MyRecords does now |
|---|---|
| Quotations, sales orders, delivery notes and POS invoices | Carry the customer’s GSTIN, GST category and place of supply, and the place of supply carries on to the invoice |
| An item’s GST template | Sets the rate on the document’s own tax rows. Before this fix, with one accounts setting on, a ₹1,000 sale at 18% saved without tax rows got a row for every account the template names: ₹720 of tax instead of ₹180 |
How it was checked: automated tests for both, then a check on our demo company after the update reached it on 3 Nov 2026.
1 Nov 2026: GST type and the tax invoice
| What we checked | What MyRecords does now |
|---|---|
| Inter-state sales and purchases | IGST is applied when the place of supply is outside your state. For purchases, the supplier’s state decides |
| Sales and purchases within your state | CGST + SGST |
| SEZ units and overseas parties | Always IGST |
| Where the rule is enforced | On the server, on quotations, sales orders, delivery notes, sales invoices, POS invoices, purchase orders, purchase receipts and purchase invoices. A tax template of the wrong kind is switched, with a notice on screen; tax rows typed by hand of the wrong kind are refused, with the GST portal’s own wording |
| The default sales invoice print | A GST tax invoice: your GSTIN on the letterhead (not your PAN), HSN codes, place of supply, the customer’s GSTIN and the rounded total |
| The customer’s tax number on the invoice screen | Shows the customer’s GSTIN. The PAN is labelled as PAN |
| The Total row of the taxes table | Adds up only the tax amounts. It used to add running totals too, which made the figure too large |
How it was checked: 20 automated tests for the GST type and 16 for the invoice prints, and a browser check of 71 points, all passed on 1 Nov 2026. The browser check ran as three demo users, at desktop and phone widths, on our demo company (a Karnataka business selling to customers in Karnataka and Maharashtra).
Fresh screenshots of the new GST tax invoice print will be added here.

Still waiting for an expert
- CA review. No chartered accountant has reviewed these pages yet. They show “Expert review pending” until one has, and we will add the name.
- Items the product itself marks “verify with your CA”: reverse-charge wording, some professional tax slabs, and the field names on dynamic QR codes for B2C invoices (needed only above ₹500 crore turnover).
- Portal connections. IRN and e-way bill generation (NIC or a GSP), and GSTR-2B download and IMS actions (GSP), are built and work once you connect your account. Filing from inside MyRecords is not built yet. They have not yet run against the live government systems.
